There are certain areas of the oral cavity e.g. in between two teeth which are not often visible to the naked eye.
Any developing pathology or decay in such areas can be effectively and accurately diagnosed with the help of X-rays.
Newly erupted permanent and deciduous/ milk teeth have very deep and pronounced grooves and fissures. They provide a perfect nidus for food and bacteria lodgement, which leads to decay.
Tooth FluoridationTreating a tooth with local application of fluoride in areas where fluoride levels in potable water is very low is very important and mandatory. Fluoride helps in toughening the interprismatic structure of the tooth. Hardened tooth structure doesn’t allow the bacterial acids to cause decay easily.
